SHADES

Verse 1

Hard to say goodbye to the ones we loved
Another hug, but it’s never enough
Photos give comfort, for a split second
Every little moment feel the absence of their presence
Stuck reminiscing reliving the scene
With the sinking feeling that you’ll never be free
Your down, lost empty and trapped
Riding the wave, with your baggage attached
Breath gets shallow, sense gets narrow
Blood soaked shirt from poisoned arrow
Stay inside, confined in a tomb
All you’re trying to ever do is hide the wounds
Dampened moods, shades of gloom
The dark nights is met with the rays of the moon
Then the light comes in, filters the room
All you’ve been through is watering roots

Chorus

These are the shades of my days
I trip and fall right on my face
See the fear wash down the drain
I’m feeling down but it’s a phase
Watch myself take centre stage
In drizzles then it starts to rain
Wash the dirt right off my face
But what’s life without a little a bit of.... shade

Verse 2

As I walk through the shades of my days
Words engraved through dry ink stains
Sun and the rain glory and the pain
Stagnant today tomorrow there’s change
Stories we’ve told now our souls exposed
Emotions we own the colours and tones
As the journey just grows through the eb and flow
I let it grow and put the shades on show

Chorus

These are the shades of my days
I trip and fall right on my face
See the fear wash down the drain
I’m feeling down but it’s a phase
Watch myself take centre stage
In drizzles then it starts to rain
Wash the dirt right off my face
But what’s life without a little a bit of.... shade

stay or leave

Verse 1

I seem to be confused and torn
Am I about to walk into a storm?
But I feel your warmth, I feel your touch
I’m swallowed by your problems and it feels too much

Chorus

Stay or leave
What I what web I weaved
It may rain on me
Should I stay or leave?

Verse 1

If I walk away I’d have a guilty conscience
In the same terrain but with a different compass
Different directions creating some tension
And the reason that the heaviness is here
My minds plague with hesitation
Different stages, different pages
And we both believe, it isn’t fair
And the conversations leaving us drained
Situations hard to maintain
Feeling frightened, indecisive
And I’m conflicted inside
How much should we comprise?
Are we stacking high our cards of lies?
It’s a roller coaster of emotions
Stay or leave I just stay frozen

Chorus

Stay or leave
What I what web I weaved
It may rain on me
Should I say or leave?

Verse 2

I’ve succumb to your tenderness
To your love and all the rest of it
It becomes a bit strenuous I always see the end of it
You can see the future but I’ll always be a pessimist
Try to solve our issues at every single angle
Takes two to tango but we get entangled
One foots in, the other is out
See a lot of doubt a dark cloud hovering around
I’m sick to my core, I’m so unsure
I go back and forth but it’s your allure
An internal tug of war, what lies beneath it all
You’ve given me a feeling that I’ve never felt before
The splash of brightness, dash of vibrance
From how you’re bringing my life excitement
But there’s complications, in our situation
And I’m suffocated by the endless expectations

Chorus

Stay or leave
What I what web I weaved
It may rain on me
Should I say or leave?

Bridge (x2)

I stay, then I want to walk away
I leave, then I miss your company
I stay, then I start to feel afraid
I leave, then it starts haunting me

Chorus (x2)

Stay or leave
What I what web I weaved
It may rain on me
Should I say or leave?

last in line

Chorus

Last in line I’m last to find
As the world walks by I’m left behind
Hands are tied and I’m trying to find
Where the sun will shine and my stars...my stars align

Verse 1

Everyone’s moving on maybe you should too
The problem is you don’t know where too you should move
They tell you to settle down, to mellow out
But you want understand what your life is all about
You feel different, but not different enough
In a corporate job, but corporate you are not
Lost in what you want and it comes at a cost
You see the clock is something that just never ever stops
The time is there, but the time is scarce
Be careful who you let into the inside of your lair
Diverting your attention without any care the pollution in the air, is just starting to ware
When you listen to advice, of everyone’s opinion
You’ve fallen inline, you’ve become another minion
You’ve started to become another one of those millions
Of lost victims, left drifting

Chorus

Last in line I’m last to find
As the world walks by I’m left behind
Hands are tied and I’m trying to find
Where the sun will shine and my stars...my stars align

Verse 2

Another new engagement on your Facebook feed
Every other day a friend or two are moving overseas
Ones gone to London the other to Scotland
You ponder if to follow but you figure you’re not them
Facing a conundrum, feeling like your running
Perhaps it came from some past, underlying suffering
Now looking around, where to focus your efforts
Their flaunting their successes now it haunting your progression
Filtering lives, filtering pictures
Truth turns to lies and another game of whispers
Dreams start to drown, your feeling worn down
And you contemplate whether you should follow the crowd
Now the lane you chose is no longer you’re own
And the dreams you’ve held are beginning to erode
Though it’s hard at the start, the journey of the heart
You just watch your creativity ignite your path

Chorus

Last in line I’m last to find
As the world walks by I’m left behind
Hands are tied and I’m trying to find
Where the sun will shine and my stars...my stars align

Bridge

You sit with suspense on the edge of the ledge
You wonder when you turn is up next
Falling behind trying to find the finish line
Fight or flight it’s that time to decide
Days of straining days of contemplation
These are the days that are spent in restoration
Lay down the pavement with a new foundation
Walk through the haze to see what’s waiting

Chorus

Last in line I’m last to find
As the world walks by I’m left behind
Hands are tied and I’m trying to find
Where the sun will shine and my stars...my stars align

blind side

Chorus

If we had the chance, to say good bye
Sometime life hits you from the blindside
If we had the time, before your flight
But we’ll make sure that your light stays bright
Sometime life hits you from the blindside

Verse 1

Right now I’m trying to deal with this feeling,
Tragedy unwrapped, what I’ve been concealing
Trying to understand, life and its meaning
Coming to grips that our time is only fleeting
I’m sinking, and my minds crash landed
Trying to understand, but I can’t fathom
You were here, and then you just vanished
What happens to those after we scatter their ashes?
Do our souls, just wander this planet?
You more to me then just carbon atoms
Am I the only one that thinks it really matters?
As I seem to be, drifting into sadness
Did your soul levitate to a higher plane?
Will there be a time where I see you again
Could we cross paths if you reincarnate
Right now, this is all hearsay

Chorus

If we had the chance, to say good bye
Sometime life hits you from the blindside
If we had the time, before your flight
But we’ll make sure that your light stays bright
Sometime life hits you from the blindside

Verse 2

Lessons we can learn from those that have perished
What to let go and what to cherish
Money subsides so do our possessions
All that is left is our aura and our essence
Small little dramas oh so pretentious
And the many pressures of unnecessary stresses
Emotions suppressed? it causes resentment
Exercise you freedom of self expression
Feel the sun the breeze the way it move the leaves
The beauty can be seen in simplicity
There’s life and there’s death a start and an end
Without the finish, would we push to progress?
Would we appreciate time if it wasn’t confined?
But in the chaos of life, it passes us by
And our dreams seem to be, torn at the seams
Times like these it’s time to reweave

Chorus

If we had the chance, to say good bye
Sometimes life hits you from the blindside
If we had the time, before your flight
But we’ll make sure that your light stays bright
Sometime life hits you from the blindside

Bridge

We won't forget the legacy you left
People you met and those you blessed
Things you gave had a ripple effect
Touching us through the years ahead
We won't forgot the memories left
Moments shared time we spent
Lessons we’ve learnt wisdom we kept
Now it's time we let you rest

Chorus

If we had the chance, to say good bye
Sometimes life hits you from the blindside
If we had the time, before your flight
But we’ll make sure that your light stays bright
Sometime life hits you from the blindside

prove

Verse 1

Don't think, you’re not good enough for her
Your love is something that she does not deserve
Don't think you’re not good enough for him
He's not even worthy, of all you can give
But some wounds stay hidden from with in
Until you find it in yourself to forgive
Remnants of rejection hinders connection
Messes, with your own self perception
You were born, to feel the affection
And you always have been worthy of attention
At the mercy of someone else’s venom
It poison your mind, but only if you let them
In the presence of love there should never be abuse
You confuse the two, then you’re tying a noose
Unclip then unhinge, let go of the grip
At the end of your wits, know you’re better than this

Chorus

I don’t know what to do to prove to you
That your good enough you should see it too
Feeling stuck and it is hard to move
But your strong enough you should see it too

Verse 2

Feel like a drone , it erodes your soul
You’re wanting control over the way you go
The world can pollute and dilute the truth
It can take you to an unfavourable route
Greatness, isn’t seen in attainment
Starts from the seed, you believe you can make it
You’ll move forward, backwards, adjacent
Need to learn, to exercise patience
Your difference, gives you your brilliance
Give you your richness and its worth millions
Be proud to stand out then blend in with the crowd
Not the time to mellow out, it’s time to be loud
Live the life you wish, it’s worth the risk
Need to be in sync and invest in your gifts
Climb that bridge don’t sink where you sit
And you’ll never get lost, in the mist

Chorus

I don’t know what to do to prove to you
That your good enough you should see it too
Feeling stuck and it is hard to move
But your strong enough you should see it too

Bridge

It’s time to contend against lies your fed
Wipe your eyes and then clean your lens
Smell of regret it leaves a scent
You need to make a mense and then move ahead
if we could just switch shoes, switch views
So you can see through all the issues
Be wise enough to know when to let go
Of all of those that seem to halter your growth
That used to drag you down that lonely road
Be strong enough to just hold your own

Chorus (x2)

I don’t know what to do to prove to you
That your good enough you should see it too
Feeling stuck and it is hard to move
But your strong enough you should see it too

Ending

You should see it to you should see it too
You should see it to you should see it too
You should see it to you should see it too
You should see it to you should see it too

down this road

Verse 1

Down this road I go this slippery slope
Back to what seems to hurt the most
Rewind the tape, takes me through a maze
Transported to a place, I once escaped
Wish I could erase all those blemishes
But it’s hidden within cracks and crevasses
Stuck in the feeling its heavy resonance
Now I am reliving its unpleasantness

Chorus

I’ve been feeling up and down
Hiding myself under ground
Now I’m floating in the sky
Watch is all just pass me by
Down this road I walk alone
Down this road I make my own

Verse 2

Emotions you thought were frozen
Wounds reopen demons rewoken
Induced a mood transported you too
You’re booted from the group, you’re awfully confused
Away you move, becoming a recluse
Issues unresolved need to go to the roots
Back to your old self back in that shell
Now it’s time to snap yourself out of that spell

Chorus

I’ve been feeling up and down
Hiding myself under ground
Now I’m floating in the sky
Watch is all just pass me by
Down this road I walk alone
Down this road I make my own

Bridge (x2)

I’ve been down this road (this road this road)
I thought that I closed that door (that door that door)

Chorus (x2)

I’ve been feeling up and down
Hiding myself under ground
Now I’m floating in the sky
Watch is all just pass me by
Down this road I walk alone
Down this road I make my own

Outro

I’ve been down this road (this road this road)
I thought that I closed that door (that door that door)
I’ve been down this road (this road this road)
I thought that I closed that door
